With busy courts, we are often running into the informal waiting list scenario where more than the limit can register, but only those within the limit can play. This makes it imperative that if you have registered to play, even when outside of the limit, the community needs you to remove your name no more than 30 minutes prior to the game if you are not planning on playing. This allows those on the waiting list to check at that 30 minute mark to see if they have been moved to inside of the limit.

A couple of scenarios to entertain:

1. There are 14 people on a game with a limit of 12. 10 of the first 12 show up and two are no-shows. This leaves 2 people who could have played staying at home with no pickle! Very sad.

2. There are 23 people on a game with a limit of 20. Two people remove themselves from the game and numbers 21 and 22 are moved to within the limit, but neither of them check to see if they made it in, and thus they are no-shows. Player 23 could have been playing pickle had those two wait listers checked their status. Again, sad!

There are more possibilities, but you get the point. If your name is on a list, you are responsible for watching that list and adjusting your status (In or Out) based on your availability.
